Attention, beauty lovers! Kim Kardashian announced that KKW is releasing a line of body makeup and fans are hyped. Whether this is already part of your summer makeup regime or you’ve never heard of such a thing, we’ll take you through the new launch before you drop your hard earned money on it. In case you’re wondering, it’s basically just foundation for your body. A-listers use body makeup on the red carpet or on photo shoots to hide any imperfections on their legs, arms and chest.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star announced on Tuesday, June 11, that she was releasing “Skin Perfecting Body Foundation, Skin Perfecting Body Shimmer, Loose Shimmer Powder for Face [and] Body and a Body Brush” on June 21. The 38-year-old divulged that she’s a huge fan of body makeup and has been putting in a lot of hours to bring the product to her own line. “I’ve been working on these formulas for over a year now and I’m so happy with how creamy and blendable they all are,” she wrote on Twitter. “You can layer the formulas together or use them individually to achieve how much coverage and shimmer you want. I can’t wait for you guys to try this collection!!”
Kim added more about her personal tie to the product in a separate tweet, “Do you guys use Body Make Up? I’ve used it for years to cover my psoriasis! The brand I used to use only had 2 shades and got discontinued so I am so excited for everyone to try this and my formula is.”
Considering body makeup isn’t totally mainstream yet, it’s not surprising that people may have some reservations about trying it. However, it seems like a lot of users are excited to try the reality starlet’s best-kept beauty secret. “I’ve never worn it but I guess I’m gonna have to now!” someone admitted. A separate user gushed, “This is such a cool idea!! Now we know your secret to flawless looking skin.”
So, how much is this going to set you back? The actual body foundation is $45 per tube and comes in seven shades. “The creamy formula and innovative pigments are water and transfer resistant, blending evenly and seamlessly into the skin,” the KKW Beauty website explains. If you’re worried about blending, the cosmetic company sells a body brush for $32 to help with the application. As far as the possibility of using it on your face, body makeup tends to have a much thicker formula so it tends to blend better on a larger area. Pro tip: If you want to learn more about applying thicker products, celebrity makeup artist Emma Willis exclusively gave Life & Style advice for glowing skin.
The body shimmer is $35 and you should think of the three shades as a highlighter for the body — more of a finishing touch to add that unmistakable radiance. The loose shimmer powder is $27 a pop and is for an extra punch of shimmer. Who doesn’t love more glitter, right? KKW also has bundles available ranging from $85 to $200.
This definitely seems like a fun new product to play around with during sundress season!
