If you’re a Vanderpump Rules fan, you’ve probably been bummed out about the feud between Kristen DouteStassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney-Schwartz all summer. Believe it or not, Kristen, 36, opened up about the falling out and her experience with her former friends at BravoCon back in November.

“We exchanged pleasantries,” the brunette beauty explained to HollywoodLife on December 11 about the Bravo event while attending costars Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix‘s Fancy AF Cocktails book launch. “We were all there for the same reason and we all have a job to do, and we were all on the same team when it comes to the show, but that was it.”

But Kristen is definitely open to moving back into friend territory with the two girls. “I never say never to any of that. I love them both. My personal POV is I love them both,” she told the outlet. “They’re still my sisters to me. I still have a lot of love. They asked for space, so I’m giving them space.”

It seems as though the whole ~needing space~ thing was Stassi and Katie’s idea from the start, so it’s clear they’re harboring some resentment at the moment. “It was them,” Kristen confirmed. “And Katie actually texted me the day that my book came out for pre-order on Amazon, and she sent me a screenshot that she had pre-ordered it and texted congratulations. And I thought that was over the moon sweet of her and I really appreciated it.”

Clearly, the author isn’t entirely on Katie’s bad side — but is Stassi the reason for Katie’s contempt? “Could be, or not. I don’t know. Katie’s definitely no one’s minion. I think… I don’t know,” she mused about her one-time pals. “I mean maybe it’s just a respect thing for Stassi because Katie’s definitely kinder to me and more friendly than Stassi is. But Katie is her own person.”

At the con, Life & Style spoke exclusively with Stassi and Katie … and the girls dished about the possibility of Kristen being MIA from the blonde babe’s upcoming Italy wedding to fiancé Beau Clark.

“It’s important to them that they only have people there that are immediate in their lives, who they see a future in their lives with and that they’re close with. It’s important, I think, to keep the wedding intimate,” Katie dished, to which Stassi added, “Yeah. Basically, a lot of people aren’t going to be invited. That’s what she’s trying to nicely say.”

“It’s not just one thing that brought us to this place. It was just a series of years of things,” Stassi explained further about the feud. “We kind of just felt like, ‘OK, we need a break and that’s it.’ And we love her still and care about her, but it’s just break time.” Guess we’ll have to wait for Pump Rules to return to Bravo on January 7 — we’re dying to know what happens for these three gals.
