Their marriage may have ended, but Jennifer Lopez still supports her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
The 45-year-old beauty, who’s looking better than ever these days, sat down for an interview with Hoda Kotb at the 92nd YMCA in NYC on Thursday, Nov. 6. And no topic was off limits — including how she feels about her ex’s recent engagement to model Shannon De Lima.
“Everybody knows he’s getting engaged and I am so happy for him,” said J.Lo, who’s been busy promoting her new memoir, “True Love.”
Looking back at the demise of their relationship, Jennifer, who’s been divorced three times, told the “Today Show” co-host that she was in denial for a very long time leading up the split.
“I just started having all of these crazy thoughts… and it was just coming to the surface, like I couldn’t hold it down anymore,” she shares, adding she made the decision to end things when her mom came to visit her on a photo shoot. “My mom was like, 'You are scaring me.' I started talking and said I can’t be with Marc anymore. I just burst into tears. That was the sentence that needed to come out.”
J.Lo knew it was time to “give up that dream” with Marc right then and there. They called it quits in July 2011 — seven years after "I do" and three years after welcoming twins Max and Emme.
“It’s hard to bring up all this stuff because it’s like why are we talking about this because it is in the past, but we had a family and we did plan on being together for 40 years,” she confided. “He used to talk about that all of the time and that was our goal, so that day I had to give up that dream and I think that was the hardest part of it.”
