Just hours after news broke that Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, the actress released a statement through her manager.
"Angelina will always do what's in the best interest to protect her children," Geyer Kosinski told E! News. "She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time."
The Oscar winner's attorney, Robert Offer, told Reuters the couple's decision to split was made "for the health of the family," and added that Angelina "will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time."

In court documents obtained by E!, the mother-of-six lists the duo's date of separation as Sept. 15, 2016. She is not seeking spousal support.
Her father Jon Voight also spoke out about the breakup. “I don’t know much about it except it must be something serious,” he told Radar Online. “I just got the news and I’m concerned.”
This is the brunette beauty's third divorce. She was previously married to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton. Brad famously split from wife Jennifer Aniston after starting a relationship with Angelina on the set of their 2005 film, Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
