‘Bachelor’ Contestant Onyeka Responds to Backlash After Throwing Nicole Under the Bus
There was more drama than ever during Week 5 of The Bachelor. One of the plot points included Onyeka going to Colton Underwood and claiming that Nicole was just using the show to get out of her hometown of Miami. The whole situation turned very messy and the contestant received backlash from fans. She seemingly responded to the hate with an inspiring social media post.
“This is your daily reminder to love yourself even when others don’t,” the 24-year-old captioned a moody photo on Instagram. “It’s only a small glimpse that you all see on TV and even though you think you have it all figured out … trust me, you don’t. I truly believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that’s all it is … an opinion.”
She continued by noting that she isn’t going to waste time worrying about strangers on the internet. The reality star added, “I’m going to continue living my BEST life which consists of me only caring about opinions from people who actually know me as a person.”
Fans rallied to support the IT risk consultant. “People who want to sit around and criticize you for a freaking TV show are the ones who need to check who they are,” one person said. Someone else added, “You are most definitely my favorite.” Another user hopefully quipped, “See you in Paradise, girl.”
During the latest episode of the reality show, the Dallas resident confronted the former football player and claimed that before Elyse made her exit, she revealed that Nicole wasn’t there for the right reasons. ~Cue dramatic music.~
The leading man then pulled the Miami native aside to ask her if this was true, to which she emotionally said no. As Onyeka was dishing to the group about the hot gossip she shared with Colton, Tayshia butted in and said that wasn’t how the conversation with Elyse went down at all.
The situation escalated and the saltiness grew until Colton stormed out of the cocktail party and the episode ended on a cliffhanger. How will the rest of the drama play out? We’ll find out next week!
