Not having it! Kourtney Kardashian clapped back at trolls claiming keto isn’t an ideal diet.
“This number goes crazy,” the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 41, captioned a photo of a ketone meter via her Instagram Story on July 2. “And to all of you who are saying keto is unhealthy, my doctor has me do it for brief periods to help detox metals or toxins, so I would not recommend this without checking with your doctor first. But my doctor I trust puts me on it, and I personally love it.”
The Poosh.com founder went on to explain that diabetes runs in her family. “My doctor also has me check my glucose levels while doing keto for those questioning that too … Thank you all for your concern,” she continued.
While everyone who ~keeps up~ with Kourtney may know she’s the ultimate health junkie, she did share a disclaimer that she’s no pro. “To the one who said I should let you know that I am not a dietician, you are correct. Sorry if anyone thought that was my profession,” Kourtney added. “Have a happy day.”
The brunette beauty also shared a link to a Poosh.com blog article explaining why she’s back on Keto. It turns out, she tends to go on the no-carb diet when summer rolls around, adding her “body never looked better than when I did the keto diet two and half years ago, when I did it for two months.”
If you’re wondering what exactly keto is, Kourt explained it herself. “The basic idea behind ketosis is pretty simple — eat more fat and very few carbs,” she wrote.
So what does Kourtney eat while on keto? She incorporates a mix of different foods including avocado smoothies, salad with egg whites, broth, green tea, chicken, salmon and lots of veggies. And of course, there are foods she doesn’t eat, which include alcohol, anything processed, beans, root vegetables and more.
Kourtney is so dedicated, she avoids snacking at all costs. No wonder she looks and feels great!
