In With the Family! Peter Weber’s Dad Has a Hilarious Nickname for Kelley Flanagan
In with the family! Bachelor star Peter Weber’s dad, Peter Sr., revealed the cute nickname he calls Kelley Flanagan after she sweetly wished him a happy birthday. It looks like the Webers are already head over heels for the tax attorney.
Kelley, 27, commented, “Happy birthday,” on Peter’s video tribute for his dad’s big day with two red heart emoji. “Thanks so much for the wishes, Chop Chip. Miss you guys,” Pete Sr. replied with a red heart emoji. It’s unclear what Chop Chip means and why it’s Kelley’s nickname, but we’re here for it.
“Happy birthday, Capitan!” Peter, 28, wrote to his dad on Instagram on April 21 along with a video of Kelley and Bachelor Nation alum Dustin Kendrick dancing and being silly. “We wish we could be there with you today celebrating [Peter Sr.], but we’re there in spirit! We love you!”
The Bachelor and tax attorney have been quarantining together for over a month in Chicago amid the coronavirus pandemic. Peter dished that they’re taking things “slow” on Nick Viall’s “The Viall Files” podcast earlier this month.
The Weber family is notoriously big on nicknames, and Peter’s mom, Barbara Weber, exclusively dished to Life & Style about why they call their oldest son Bud. “My husband’s name is Peter, right? So, since he was a baby he’s been called Bud,” Barb explained about the season 24 star. “First, it was Buddy and then Bud.”
It’s great to see Peter’s family support his relationship with Kelley because the former flames have been receiving shade from a few members of Bachelor Nation. Madison Prewett spilled some major tea about her past with the pilot during Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast on April 21.
The leading man got engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss during the season 24 finale. They split shortly after because he had residual feelings for runner-up Madison, 24. They briefly reconnected after filming but announced that they “mutually” went their separate ways for good on March 13 — just three days following After the Final Rose. Peter was then spotted with Kelley in the Windy City on March 25. Madison alleged during her latest interview with Kaitlyn that her ex was hoping to rekindle things just a few days before he flew out to the lawyer’s hometown.
“He was, like, calling me and texting me being like, ‘I miss you, let’s get back together,’” Madi claimed while adding that Peter’s dynamic with Kelley came as a surprise because he seemed to be interested in working things out. “You were telling me how much you loved me and wanted to get back together and now you’re with the one person that was my best friend,” Madi added. “It just feels a little hurtful.”
That is one side of the story, and Peter publicly called Madi out for her statements about the events that went down. “You’d think you’d have a little more respect for this situation given we both know there’s more to the story,” the reality stud commented on Bachelor Nation Scoop’s post about his ex’s bombshell interview.
Time will tell what unfolds, but it looks like the Webers are Team Kelley!
