Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Dating Celebrity Reactions

The worlds of football and pop music collided in September 2023 when rumors swirled of a romance between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Already, countless celebrities have weighed in. In fact, Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, was the first one to add fuel to the fire with multiple comments about the relationship. Though he initially admitted he had no idea what was going on in Travis’ love life, the Eagles player later joked that he thought the rumors were “100% true.”

The cat seemed to be out of the bag when Taylor watched Travis play with the Kansas City Chiefs against the Chicago Bears on September 23, and the two left afterward together in Travis’ convertible. Jason said on SportsRadio 94 WIP on September 27 that it seemed like Travis was “going above and beyond to be a gentleman.”

“I’m happy that it finally happened out in the public eye so I can hopefully stop being asked questions about it,” he added.

She continued, “I just want to say as a female stand-up comic — I’m on the road, I’m touring, I love it — and her being a musician, what I think is really great is the way he shows up for her has never been done. So, when I think about the greats, the Cher‘s and the Stevie Nicks‘, you never heard about a football player going to their concert and cheer, right? Those ladies didn’t have that grace and I think that’s one of the reasons so many women are pulling for this relationship.”

Kelly commented on Traylor’s takeover of the NFL on her talk show. “It’s not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now,” she joked. “It’s like you’re watching [The Real] Housewives. … They’re just talking about gossip things and you’re like, ‘So what about the play?’ But [Travis and Taylor are] taking over.”

The Voice alum received backlash for her reaction, but she was quick to shut down the haters.

“Just a quick public service announcement everybody since this seems to be breaking news,” Kelly wrote on Instagram. “Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again. I did not bash anyone’s romance. I am pro romance. Yay romance. Did y’all even watch what I actually said on my show? I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request. Okay, carry on, and GO COWBOYS!”

Reba McEntire

Reba joked that she was “so mad” at fellow country star Taylor for starting a relationship with Travis because she “had a crush on him.”

“Now I can’t have a crush anymore because he’s dating her. I was so devastated,” she told Today, calling Travis her “boyfriend that cheated on” her.

Jordan Rodgers

Sports commentator Jordan Rodgers, who is married to Bachelor Nation’s JoJo Fletcher, admitted to Us Weekly that he “shot his shot” with Taylor while he was a quarterback at Vanderbilt University by leaving tickets to home games at the box office for her. However, Taylor never showed up. Thankfully, Jordan isn’t too salty about the rejection and said he “absolutely loves” the idea of Taylor dating Travis.

“I just wasn’t quite Travis Kelce, which is totally understandable,” he said.

David Beckham

David commented on the potential romance in an interview with People in October. “There’s a lot of noise around Taylor at the moment,” the soccer player, who is married to fashion designer and pop star Victoria Beckham, said. “Taylor is an amazing talent and she’s an amazing person, and she deserves to be happy. Whatever she does and whoever she’s with, as long as she’s happy, that’s the most important thing.”

Mark Cuban

Shark Tank star Mark encouraged Taylor to date someone from his Dallas Mavericks team instead. He joked, “Taylor — If you’re listening, sorry, Travis — break up with him. I’ve got a bunch of good-looking single guys that play for the Dallas Mavericks. I gotchu! I gotchu!”

Travis seemingly took no offense to the comment, writing on X, “Just sign me to a ten day!” (For those not in the know about sports, a 10-day contract allows players to showcase their skills for a team before it’s decided if the player should continue with the team or get cut.)
