Sofia Richie’s Family Doesn’t Think Scott Disick Is ‘the Best Match’ for Her
Caught in the middle? Just because Sofia Richie and her longtime boyfriend, Scott Disick, are thinking about their future together, doesn’t mean that the model’s family approves. In fact, a source exclusively revealed to Life & Style that Sofia’s loved ones are less than pleased that she’s still dating the KUWTK star.
“Sofia’s mother, [Diane Alexander], and brother, [Miles Richie], are not huge fans of Scott,” the insider said. “They think Sofia is too young to be in such a serious, committed relationship.”
Beyond Scott and Sofia’s 15-year age gap, Miles, 25, is also apparently concerned about Scott’s toxic past. “He has a lot of friends in common with Scott and knows a lot about his partying ways,” the source explained. “So, he doesn’t really think he’s the best match for his sister.”
In the past, Sofia’s father, Lionel Richie, has also expressed worry about his daughter’s relationship. So much so, that in 2018, the “Hello” singer, 70, called Sofia seeing Scott just a “phase.”
As it stands, though, she isn’t taking her family’s reservations about Scott too seriously. “Sofia says she was raised in the industry and doesn’t need anyone to protect her,” the insider said. “She’s no dummy and knows how to handle herself.”
Handle herself … and Scott, for that matter. “They actually laugh over people saying that they have nothing in common or she’s too immature for him because she’s the one who takes care of him!” an additional source previously told Life & Style. “Let’s not forget that before they started dating Scott was partying a lot — and you don’t see that side of him anymore.”
“He’s never out getting too out of control and that’s because Sofia has created a stable life for him,” the source continued. “She loves to plan outdoor adventures for the two of them, like an early evening hike or order in sushi or go to low-key date nights and watch movies.”
Even Scott’s ex and mother of his three children, Kourtney Kardashian, agrees that Sofia is a positive influence on him. Here’s hoping Sofia’s family comes around sooner rather than later!
