Happily Ever After? Colton Didn’t Propose on ‘The Bachelor’ But Is Very Much in Love With Cassie
After a whirlwind season, Colton Underwood was left with zero women at the end of his journey. However, the handsome hunk, 27, appeared on Cassie’s doorstep and asked her for a second chance. Now, the couple are in love. So, did Colton pop the question on the Tuesday, March 12, episode of The Bachelor?
Unfortunately, the athlete revealed that he’s not ready to take the next step quite yet. “We still have a lot of room to grow in our relationship right now,” he said. “So, we’re enjoying dating right now.”
“Colton will propose when the time is right,” a source told Life & Style. “He wants to be 100 percent sure that Cassie will accept his proposal because he would be completely humiliated if he got down on one knee and she turned him down.”
Sounds like a good idea considering that the California native kept going back and forth with how she felt about Colton during their time in Portugal. When Colton confessed to the blonde beauty that her father didn’t give him his blessing to propose, she was shocked.
“I know they want the best for me,” she said about her family during the March 4 episode. “The fact that they’re not 100 percent sold on Colton and I together kind of freaks me out. It makes me confused if he’s the right person.”
Later in the episode, her dad, Matt, offered some advice to his daughter. “You seemed conflicted,” he noted. She replied, “I just wish I had more time. I don’t want it to be over with him, but it scares me that at the end it’s accepting a proposal, that’s huge. But I’m not ready for it to be over.”
During their dinner date, the Indiana native reassured Cassie that he wasn’t going anywhere. “I’m OK with being patient … I don’t want to lose you,” he said. “I want to be with you. I want to be around you. I can’t stop thinking about you when I’m not around you. It’s not easy going on other dates with other women when all I do is think about you.” However, Cassie couldn’t quite get there and left the show.
In the end, the ESL teacher came around and faced her fear of commitment. “I feel like in a way we both needed [this night],” she said right before Colton asked her to go to the fantasy suite. “I feel more myself. I haven’t been confident in a lot of things, but I feel more confident. I think a lot of it is because of you too. I have learned what I am scared of and how to overcome that. I want you to know too I am sure and whatever happens after this, I want to be all in.”
Even though the couple are taking things slow, Colton wants to make sure that Cassie is end game. “He said he’s only going to get married once, so, he wants to be confident the woman he’s proposing to will be in his life forever,” the insider continued.
For now, the lovebirds revealed that they are excited for what’s to come. “We are going to be traveling this next year,” he said. “We are going to be spending a lot of time together as well, so we have had the conversations, but we aren’t going to rush anything. We are still going to be together every single day. We are so excited right now.”
