Jeffree Star Seemingly Goes Instagram Official With New Boyfriend 8 Months After Nate Schwandt Split
Wait … is Jeffree Star dating someone new?! The YouTuber turned heads when he shared a steamy photo with a mystery man on August 22, eight months after his split from longtime boyfriend Nathan Schwandt.
“Thankful for all the blessings God has brought into my life this year,” the 34-year-old captioned a photo of himself sitting in the unidentified man’s lap. The enigmatic guy had his arms wrapped around Jeffree in the shot and showed off his arms — which were full of tattoos. His face was, of course, obstructed by the vlogger’s body.
Fans and followers immediately started speculating about the identity of the new guy in Jeffree’s life. His supporters first mentioned Jozea Rosé, an actor and musician Jeffree did a YouTube video with in June. The video was titled “First Date Does My Makeup,” so it seemed like a safe bet Jozea might be the man in question. However, that theory was debunked after some fans pointed out Jozea doesn’t have any tattoos on his arms.
Next, Jeffree’s subscribers speculated it might be fellow YouTuber and American Idol alum Todrick Hall. However, the Broadway actor’s tattoos don’t match up with the ones on the man in the photo. After ruling Todrick, 35, out of the mix, fans have been theorizing the mystery man is an NBA player, based on a basketball tattoo on his shoulder.
Jeffree revealed he and ex-boyfriend Nathan, 26, split in January after five years together. “Me and Nathan will be friends forever, I will always have love for him,” the Jeffree Star Cosmetics founder said at the time. “Are we in love with each other? No. But we love each other and he will always be in my life.”
He took some time to adjust to his new normal before announcing the breakup to his supporters. “I’ve used a lot of this time of silence to just try to heal. We’re both in a state of shock,” Jeffree explained after revealing it had been “weeks” since he and Nate split. “I’m devastated, I’m so sad. And the love of my life is no longer — I don’t wake up to him anymore. He’s no longer here every morning and my routines have changed and I’m just in a state of shock right now. We both are.”
At the end of the month, the beauty guru revealed he was “starting to finally feel like [himself] again” amid the split, so it seems Jeffree may have eased himself back onto the dating scene over the spring and into the summer. Either way, we can’t wait to find out who his new man is!
