Peter Weber Says ‘The Bachelorette’ Had ‘Nothing to Do’ With Why He Dumped His Ex
He’s finally sharing his side of the story. Bachelorette contestant Peter Weber has spoken out about his ex-girlfriend Calee Lutes claiming that he broke up with her to go meet Hannah Brown on the reality show. The pilot claimed that her version wasn’t exactly how things went down between them.
“There was a lot of truth to what she said in her story, but there is also a lot of truth that wasn’t mentioned,” the reality star, 27, told People in an interview published on July 30. “The show had absolutely nothing to do with me ending that relationship.”
Calee did an interview published on July 15 where she claimed that the two dated for five months before he abruptly ended things around Christmas of last year without giving much of an explanation. The aspiring model even shared text messages that showed the pair discussing moving in together. Calee told ET, “I thought there was another girl, so I looked at his recent followers on Instagram and noticed that a Bachelorette producer had recently followed him.”
“He absolutely betrayed me,” she added. “He interviewed for a reality dating show while simultaneously planning a future with me. I trusted him entirely and he pulled the rug out from under me.”
Peter denied that aspect of his ex’s story. “I was very serious in trying to progress that relationship and move it forward,” Peter noted. “And she wasn’t on the same page as me. That being said, I wasn’t going to waste her time or my time. But the casting process and my first interview was months after we broke up.”
The former contestant added, “It’s obvious that I hurt someone that I really did care about … That was never my intention. And for that I’m sorry. Breakups suck!”
Peter was sent home after fantasy suite dates during a heartwrenching rose ceremony. Time will tell what’s next for him!
