Johnny Depp took some time out of his busy filming schedule for the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean to visit sick kids at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Australia.
And it was all the more special because he was dressed up as the one and only Captain Jack Sparrow.

Dressed in his full swashbuckling garb, the 52-year-old actor made a secret impromptu visit on Tuesday and put a smile on several kids’ faces.

Seven-year-old Max Bennett, who suffers from transverse myelitis, a rare neurological disorder affecting the spinal cord which had him in an induced coma just weeks ago, was one lucky fan who got to meet the Hollywood star.

Max’s mother Rachel told Australia’s ABC that Depp arrived via black helicopter and went to bedsides, joking and playing with the kids all the while hamming it up in his full pirate persona.
"He was going from room to room seeing all the kids who couldn't get out of bed," she shared. "We waited out of the front of one of the rooms, and he came up to us and had a really good chat to Max."

Captain Jack posed for selfies, handed out gold coins and even did a playful interview for Juiced TV – a 30-minute show made by the kids being treated at Lady Cilento.

"It was really beautiful. Everyone kept on trying to move him on, but he kept on coming back,” added Ms. Bennett.
Depp has been in the area filming Pirates of Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales since earlier this year.
