Demi Burnett Is Truly the Queen of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ — Whether She Gets Engaged or Not!
The queen has arrived on Bachelor in Paradise and we don’t want Demi Burnett to leave anytime soon. During the first week, things heated up between her and Derek Peth. The woman who stole Demi’s heart is Kristian Haggerty. Not only will she and the blonde beauty be the first same-sex couple shown in the Bachelor franchise, but they will also leave the show engaged, according to Reality Steve. Kristian is not a member of Bachelor Nation, but appears on the show before the third rose ceremony. From there on out, Demi gives her a rose every week.
Kristian met Demi through her roommate and longtime friend Catherine Agro, a contestant from Colton Underwood‘s season.
The spunky reality starlet opened up about her sexuality during the Paradise premiere on August 5. “I have kind of been seeing someone, of course, plot twist — it happens to be a woman,” Demi explained during a sitdown with former Bachelorette star Hannah Brown. “It’s not something that I need to label so I feel like I don’t have to proclaim, ‘I am gay, I am straight, I am bisexual, I am this.’ … I like who I like. It doesn’t matter who or what you are, it’s the person.”
She gushed about her new love interest and said, “We really fell like heads over heels for each other. She has the warmest energy, she never gets mad. You would love her.”
However, before arriving in Paradise, Demi was having doubts that made her afraid to commit. “Experiencing all of the different emotions that I have and getting to know myself better and getting to know what I want more, it’s been really confusing,” she explained. “It’s this constant, like, indecisiveness in me and I just feel like the only way for me to truly know what I want and how I want to love and who I want to love is if I try out Paradise. Maybe Paradise is what it’s going to take for me to figure it out.”
