Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s Relationship Timeline: Engagement, Split and Baby No. 1

July 2020

Megan and MGK did their first joint interview together, where she gushed about her new man two months after splitting from husband Brian Austin Green in May 2020.

“The second that I was in a room with him … I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame,” the Till Death actress recalled during a joint appearance with her Midnight in the Switchgrass costar on Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s “Give Them Lala … With Randall” podcast.

“Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So, we’re actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately because I felt it right away,” she added.

After months of speculation, Megan and MGK made their relationship social media official. The Rogue actress gushed over her “achingly beautiful” man.

During a feature in Interview, MGK recalled how Megan was helpful during his drug addiction recovery. 

“When you have a partner, mine being Megan, sitting there with you on those dark nights when you’re sweating and not being able to figure out why you’re so in your head, to help you get out of your head and put it in perspective, that really, really helps,” he said.

Machine Gun Kelly raised eyebrows in February 2021 when he said he wore Megan’s blood in a necklace around his neck. Three months later, he explained the significance behind the piece on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. 

“Well, she was actually going out of town to film a movie. This was really new in our relationship,” the musician said. “I didn’t have a passport either. So, she was going out to Bulgaria so I was kind of freaking out, like, ‘You’re gonna leave and I can’t even come see you.’ … Some people give, like, a handkerchief to their partner or whatever. She gave me her DNA.”

That’s not to say Megan didn’t have apprehensions before beginning her hot romance with MGK. 

“When I met him, I knew instantly that this is a soul I’ve traveled with before, that this was a soul-mate connection, and that there was a purpose here,” she explained to Who What Wear. “There was my logical brain chiming and being like, ‘This will never work for 101 reasons.'”

The pair have solidified their reign as hottest couple with their appearance at the VMAs. The actress rocked a sheer Mugler dress while her man wore a sparkly red Dolce and Gabbana suit. 

January 2022

MGK got down on one knee and proposed to Megan on January 11. He explained next to a video showing off the actress’ stunning engagement ring on her finger, “Yes, in this life and every life. Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, I brought her back to ask her to marry me. I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald [her birth stone] and the diamond [my birth stone] set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love,” adding the date, “1-11-2022.”

During a red carpet appearance at the 2022 Daily Front Row Awards on April 10, the couple sent rumors flying that there might be trouble in paradise as the Jennifer’s Body actress appeared to physically snub her fiancé as he leaned in for a kiss. 

The video shared via TikTok quickly went viral with the text over the footage reading, “Megan Fox be like …” and a voiceover from HBO’s Euphoria. “First of all, ew. Second of all … ew,” Euphoria’s Maddy Perez can be heard saying. 

As for MGK, he appeared to laugh off the awkward moment before following his future wife to the red carpet.

Megan put a stop to speculation that the couple had called it quits when she shared a birthday tribute to celebrate Kelly’s 32nd birthday. 

“You are by far the most unique human I have ever met,” she wrote next to a photo of herself riding piggyback on MGK. “I’m honored to love you and to be the recipient of your love.”

The actress explained that she’s more controlled in those instances, limiting each other to only a few drops, whereas MGK is “chaotic.” “He’s willing to just cut his chest open with broken glass and be like, ‘Take my soul.’”

“Flames” artist Mod Sun revealed in an Instagram Video that MGK wrote Good Mourning because he thought Megan was breaking up with him.

“I want to say thank you to [MGK] for sending me that text and thank you to Megan for sending him that text that made him think she was breaking up with him,” Mod Sun told his social media followers at the film premiere on May 13. “She was actually probably just being really nice and saying she loves [you], but we all know how this guy’s mind works — spiral! Thank you for the catastrophe that happened that made this movie real.”

The “My Ex’s Best Friend” rapper played coy whether he and his fiancée would elope like their best friends Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. The Blink-182 rocker and reality star had a Las Vegas chapel wedding after the April 2022 Grammy Awards, but the couple did not legally get married at the time.

“I want to kind of just let the world see that as it comes,” MGK told Extra on May 13 at the Good Mourning film premiere.

Despite attending the Grammy Awards together in early February 2023, Megan hinted that she and her man possibly called it quits after she removed all traces of MGK from her Instagram account and shared a cryptic post about “dishonesty.”

It appears the pair have worked things out as they were spotted arriving to the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition launch party together on May 18.

The duo proved they were still going strong with a night on the town. The same month, Megan and MGK attended GQ’s Men of the Year party together.

On November 29, 2023, the New Girl alum revealed in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily that the couple suffered a pregnancy loss.

“That experience was so much harder than I would’ve anticipated it being, and I’ve really analyzed ‘why was that? Why was that so difficult for me?’” she said. “Because when I was younger, I had an ectopic pregnancy, I’ve had other things that I’m not going to say because God forbid the world will be in an uproar. But I’ve been through other similar issues, but not with someone who I was so in love with.”

“And so that love element really made this miscarriage really tragic for me and left me with a lot of grief and a lot of suffering,” she continued. “So, I put it into a lot of writing. He’s written about them in his albums as well, he wrote a couple of songs about the miscarriage. So it just felt like something that I could address publicly because it’s been addressed in one way through him, so I have a space to express as well.”

More reports of trouble within the couple’s relationship surfaced.

“Megan and Colson have had a very up and down relationship. They are great one day and then fighting with each other the next,” a source told Us Weekly.

“They love each other and have passion in droves, but that passion goes both ways,” the insider continued. “They are still trying to work through their issues and work on how they communicate, but both of them have such fiery personalities it’s been a struggle.”

Ultimately, the pair rang in 2024 together in Aspen, Colorado.

The couple attended several parties over the 2024 Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas, including a post-game bash at the Wynn where they hung out with newly crowned champ Travis Kelce and his girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Megan confirmed the couple had previously called off their engagement but ultimately got back together during a March 20 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

“I think that what I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption,” she told host Alex Cooper. “So, I think, as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se. What I can say is that [he] is what I refer to as being my ‘twin soul,’ and there will always be a tether to him, no matter what. I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow. Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain.”

When Alex noted that Megan and MGK “got engaged, then I think it was called off,” she replied, “All those things you said were accurate things that have occurred. And I could see them being confusing, or interesting to people, and them being like, ‘What’s up?’”

After attending the Stagecoach Festival in April, the duo proved they were still going strong by attending the Summer Solstice Celebration at Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania.

On November 11, 2024, Megan confirmed she was pregnant by posting a maternity shoot photo and image of her positive pregnancy test on Instagram. “nothing is ever really lost. welcome back,” she captioned the shot, referencing her previous miscarriage.

The exciting news followed speculation that Megan was pregnant when she appeared in Machine Gun Kelly’s July 2024 music video with a baby bump. However, that turned out to just be a prop.

December 2024

Just one month after Megan confirmed her pregnancy, TMZ reported that the couple called it quits again. Sources told the outlet that they split over Thanksgiving weekend while they were on a trip together in Vail, Colorado.

Megan reportedly saw something she found upsetting on MGK’s phone and she asked him to leave early.

Neither Megan nor MGK have publicly responded to the reports, and reps for the pair did not immediately respond to Life & Style’s request for comment.

March 2025

Machine Gun Kelly announced that Megan gave birth to their baby via Instagram on March 27, 2025.

“She’s finally here!! Our little celestial seed 3/27/25,” he captioned the post.

MGK accompanied the announcement along with a black and white video of his baby girl repeatedly holding onto his finger as he soothed her by grazing his thumb across her tiny knuckles.
