It wasn't always rainbows and butterflies for Kristin Cavallari and her NFL husband Jay Cutler.
In her new book, Balancing in Heels, the former Hills star opens up about her marriage and why she initially called off her wedding to the Chicago Bears quarterback just three months after getting engaged.

"I always go after what I want in life, with men or otherwise, and I never settle. If something doesn't feel right, I act on it. It's just who I've always been," she writes. "And at that moment, something wasn't right. A few things needed to change, and I knew the only way Jay would see how serious I was, was if I ended the relationship."
She adds that she was "dying inside" during their break even though they kept in touch the entire time.

Obviously, the time apart worked and the couple is now happily married with three kids, sons Camden, 3, and Jaxon, 1, and three-month-old daughter Saylor. However, the 29-year-old fashion designer does credit one specific person for getting their relationship back on track.

"I credit [the therapist] for saving our relationship," she reveals. "She opened up our eyes to the other person's perspective and gave us great tools for communication...we still periodically see her to this day."
