Lindsay confessed to Oprah that her main addiction was alcohol and that she'd been in rehab six times total, the first time for Ambien. As for cocaine, Lindsay says she tried it only "10-15" times, and only in combination with alcohol, which was her "gateway drug."
Lindsay also revealed that her issues began after she moved alone to L.A. as a teenager and became a big star thanks to movies like Mean Girls. "It's always such a circus when I go to court. It's so humiliating," the star of The Canyons said. "Just seeing my mom and sister's face in that courtroom and my dad was just heartbreaking. It was horrible. I just remember this rush of heat coming over me and just not knowing what to expect. I don't think the embarrassment was as prominent as the shame and the guilt."
As for her mom and dad, Dina and Michael Lohan, Lindsay says that they have repaired their rift. The Lohans are divorced, and both garnered their own tabloid headlines, separate from Lindsay. One of the low points in their family's relationship was when Michael released a voicemail message he got from Lindsay where she said that Dina used cocaine. Lindsay admitted that she was lying about what she said. "She wasn't out of control. I was more out of control. It was a bad mother/daughter fight."

Lindsay's relationship with Oprah is also still continuing. Lindsay is filming a six-episode documentary series that will air on OWN next year, and Oprah convinced the actress to skip a planned trip to Europe in order to work on her recovery back at home.
