Louis Tomlinson just performed a touching and heartbreaking tribute to his late mom.
The One Direction singer returned to The X Factor UK stage three days after his mother, Johannah Deakin, passed away at the age of 42.
Johannah, who died following a battle with leukemia, was the central focus of her oldest child's performance. Louis took the stage with DJ Steve Aoki to perform their collaboration, "Just Hold On," which is the star's first solo song since his boy band split up.

The star's performance was capped off with a standing ovation, and the 24-year-old's former mentor, Simon Cowell, shared sweet words with the former contestant.
"What you've just done, and the bravery. I respect you as an artist and I respect you as a person," Simon said. "Your mom was so proud of you Louis; she was so looking forward to tonight. She's watching down on you now and you've done her proud."
