After months of speculation, Melissa McCarthy revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she will reprise her role as Sookie St. James in Netflix’s upcoming revival of Gilmore Girls.

"There has been something that I have been asked about so, so many times and it hasn't worked out and there is — they're making four new movies of the Gilmore Girls, which is a show which was near and dear to my heart, and we could not get those schedules to work,” the 45-year-old explained to the host.

She continued, “And there was a whole thing. And then I was going to be out of the country and blah, blah, blah. And literally about an hour and half ago, we figured out that I'm going to go back and do it and I am so excited. And they are going to be amazing.”
Melissa previously revealed she was not asked to return for the highly anticipated reboot, though creator Amy Sherman-Palladino did extend an invitation through her team.
