It was only a matter of time that Sarah Jessica Parker would launch her own shoe line!
“In a silly way, I think it’s what people have expected of me most because of Carrie Bradshaw,” says the actress, who played the character on Sex and the City for six seasons and two movies.
The actress has partnered with George Malkemus, the longtime CEO at — you guessed it! — Manolo Blahnik, to bring her line, SJP, together. It will also include bags and trenches.
“It’s sort of soup to nuts. You put on a shoe and you put on a coat and you wear a bag and, on the outside, when you’re walking down the street, they really can tell the same story about yourself,” she tells Vogue.
And SJP won’t be your typical shoe line.

“We’re putting new colors together that people don’t typically do, just beautiful combinations that you wish existed in your closet,” she says. “And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the seventies into the eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag."
The line will be available exclusively at Nordstrom starting early next year. The shoes will range in price from $200 to $300.
“Because I got to play that role [Carrie], I wore a lot of shoes and by default I learned an enormous amount,” she shares. “It’s hard to walk away from that.”
