One wrong turn while driving to her parents house led 35-year-old Amber Pangborn to give birth in the middle of a forest.
The California native, who was nine months pregnant at the time of the road trip, ran out of gas and found herself completely lost — it was then she started to go into labor.

The brave woman ended up giving birth — to a baby girl she named Marisa — alone, but still couldn't figure out how to get out of her surroundings. To make matters worse, the two girls were swarmed by insects and mosquitoes who were trying to eat the placenta.
"I thought we were going to die…And there was no cell service, there was no, there was nothing…I tried to not get them to sting her," she told KCRA-TV.
It was soda, apples and a bottle of water that kept her going, and eventually led her to a brilliant idea — start a fire. With hairspray and a lighter, the mother-of-one was finally able to get the attention of the U.S. Forest Service officials.
"I was crying, I was so happy…I'm so glad someone had finally seen us," she said through tears.
