This is both heartbreaking and beautiful.
An unnamed woman gave birth to a baby boy two months after she was pronounced dead.
The 36-year-old was 23 weeks pregnant when she suffered a brain hemorrhage and doctors at the hospital couldn't save her. For the unborn child's sake, the family gave the medical team permission to keep her on life support from October to mid December, controlling her blood flow through machines.
Once the woman — who hailed from Milan, Italy — was 32 weeks pregnant, doctors performed a cesarean section to safely deliver the baby, who was born at 3.9 lbs.
Following the birth, the woman's family gave the doctor permission to take her off life support so she could finally rest peacefully.
"While we are very happy that the baby has been born we cannot forget the pain that the family is feeling over the loss of this young woman," said the doctor.
