Hours after it was revealed actor Robin Williams passed away Monday, a new report claims he committed suicide by hanging himself inside his Northern California home.
The report says his body was found by his personal assistant.
Robin's wife, Susan Schneider, had left to run errands that morning before the assistant stopped by. When the assistant knocked, no one answered. After knocking again on the window, she entered the house to find his lifeless body, the TMZ report claims.
A coroner's has not yet determined the official cause of death.

Oscar-winning actor Robin Williams was found dead this morning, Aug. 11, of an apparent suicide, reports confirm. He was 63.
Though his publicist would not confirm Robin took his own life, the following statement was issued:
“Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”
According to the Marin County Coroner's office, his death is suspected to be ruled as "suicide due to asphyxia." A 911 call is said to have been made just before noon today.
The versatile comedian rose to fame on the popular sitcom Mork & Mindy before taking on more serious roles in films like Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society. He had recently signed on to reprise his role as Mrs. Doubtfire from the beloved 1993 family film.
