The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Jacqueline Laurita bravely shared her son Nicholas’ story since being diagnosed with Autism last year.
Now, in the new issue of Life & Style, the star opens up about her son's progress and her hopes for him to live a happy, fulfilled life.
“My husband and I will never give up!” she tells Life & Style, on newsstands now. “There are times we get discouraged, and it does hurt, but we know we have to keep trying. We don’t know what the future holds for Nicholas, but we will make sure that we give him all the tools he needs now to make his life easier for him in the future!”
"He can answer ‘Yes’ or ‘No,’ he can say, ‘I love you,’ ” she explains. “His vocabulary has grown this past year. But if you ask him a question, he can’t answer you yet.”
Since the diagnosis, Jacqueline explains that hearing others share their Autism journey gave her “hope and encouragement to persevere.”
Now, she shares hers, knowing the impact it can have on others who are going through the same thing.
“I know how much others' stories, information and resources have helped me,” she explains. “We travel together to speak at conferences and events to support each other and help others by sharing our story.”
