Nina Dobrev somehow manages to outshine everyone when she hits the red carpet, and tomorrow's MTV Video Music Awards should be no exception. So, to learn just how she does it, we spoke to her amazing stylist Ilaria Urbinati, who, in addition to some of Hollywood's biggest leading ladies, has also worked with hunks like James Marsden, Bradley Cooper and Will Forte.
More than anything, Ilaria is a big fan of color, and not just with clothes, but also eyes!
"Whenever I’m at a fitting with a client especially if it’s the first time I’m fitting them, one of the first things I do is look at their eye color, because I like to try and enhance their eyes through their clothes," she revealed to Life & Style.
To do this, she uses Air Optix Colors contact lenses, playing with the colors depending on what her client is wearing.
Now while she cannot reveal what we will see Nina in tomorrow, she did give us a rundown of what a day is like prepping for the red carpet. And it does, in fact, take an entire day.
Before the day even begins, weeks have been spent trying on clothes to find the perfect outfit, getting that outfit perfectly tailored, selecting the perfect shoes and clutch and jewelry, and lining everything up for just a few minutes of photos.
The morning begins with coffee and gel packs to make sure the eyes look rested. Then comes hair and makeup, which needs to balance the outfit selected by the star, and finally, after hours of hard work, it's time to zip things up, make sure the jewelry is perfect, and head out to the waiting car.
Now that we know how much is put into all this, we're even more excited to see Nina slay on the red carpet tomorrow.
