Talk about every parents' worst nightmare!
When Sharonda Ross realized that her husband had forgotten to pick up their 10-month-old son Jordan from daycare, she immediately rushed over to the facility. But what she found was a locked building and her infant crying inside.

"I banged on the window to see if someone maybe fell asleep," Ross, who was only 45 minutes late, explained to ABC News. "I heard my baby crying louder after the third time. I knew that was my baby. That's when I told my husband to break the window."

The Houston, Texas, resident says she never received a phone call from staff asking her to come pick up the child. "Nobody's here, no cars, no nothing ... my child's here at daycare by himself, no supervision," she recalled.
The owner of Joann's Day Care, Joann Davis, revealed she was shocked and upset to hear that a baby had been left inside by one of her employees. "First I'm deeply, terribly sorry," Davis told KTRK. "I thank God he was okay … It was our mistake."

But Ross says the experience has scarred her for good. "I don't see myself allowing [Jordan] to go to daycare. I'm going to be at work and asking, 'Is my baby by himself? At what point did you forget my child was there?'" she said.
Ross and her husband have since filed a report claiming child abandonment and the Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident further. But the craziest part of this story: the daycare owner said the negligent employee WON'T be losing her job!
