When Evangelina McCrary and Angelica Blount heard a baby's muffled cries near a riverbed on Nov. 27, they immediately called police who found a newborn buried beneath pieces of asphalt and rubble.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies say the infant girl was cold to the touch, but paramedics were able to treat her at the scene and she was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

According to KABC, the baby's mother, or the person responsible for the crime, has not been found but will face attempted murder and child endangerment charges.
