In an exclusive interview with Life & Style, Real Housewife of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice opens up about how hard it is for her family to survive the holidays while her husband Joe is in prison.
“We are going to spend Christmas Eve with Melissa [Gorga], my brother [Joe Gorga] and my parents,” Teresa tells Life & Style exclusively of her plans for the holidays with daughters Gia, 15, Gabriella, 12, Milania, 10, and Audriana, 7.
On Christmas, she adds, they’ll be with Joe’s family, hoping that’ll feel like he’s there in spirit. Still, she notes, “It’s not the same. I want him here. The girls really want him home, too.”
Teresa admits that Joe’s absence over the holidays is so devastating that she and the kids haven’t even been able to discuss it.
“I try to talk about it, but they don’t want to,” she says. “We are just taking it day by day. I think about him all the time, every second. The girls do, too.”
Though Joe isn’t due to be released until 2019, and faces possible deportation to his native Italy, Teresa tries not to dwell on that. “You can’t be miserable and hide in a corner,” Teresa adds. “You’ve just got to live life to the fullest.”
