It's a place where people go to unwind, relax, and pay an exorbitant amount of money for a cup of coffee — but last week, a Starbucks location in Queens, N.Y., was where a huge fight broke out between a barista and a customer.
According to PIX11, all of the drama started when the customer, Ruby Chen, asked the woman behind the counter, Melissa, for a cookie straw. After receiving attitude, she asks to talk to a manager, to which Melissa responded that she is the manager and proceeded to berate her in front of a crowded coffee shop.
“Get out!” she yelled. “You’re not going to be served here.”

Another Starbucks customer saw the argument happening and decided to take a video and upload it to Facebook — after the video went viral, the employee got a little taste of karma and was fired. But Melissa, who was just the shift supervisor, not the manager like she told the customer, claims that she quit.
Maggie Jantzen, the spokesperson for the coffee chain, issued a public statement to address the issue. "The customer’s experience is not reflective of the service our baristas provide. The employee was immediately suspended and no longer works for Starbucks. Our leadership team has reached out to the customer to make things right. This experience is not what we want our customers to have in our stores. We worked to quickly resolve this."
Chen has since deactivated her Facebook account, but reportedly announced that she was contacted by the district manager and offered a $100 gift card.
