He may play a superhero, but Hugh Jackman needed his wife’s help to get through the filming of Les Misérables!
On his return to Inside the Actors Studio – it’s been nine years since his last visit! – the actor shares his hesitations about filming the epic musical.
“[My wife had to say,] ‘This will demand more of you than anything you’ve ever done before, and yes, you can do it,’” the Oscar-nominated star confesses in the episode, which airs Feb. 13.
The Wolverine actor married his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, in 1996, and the couple have two children, Oscar, 12, and Ava, 7.
And the 44-year-old always puts his family first – even before his audition for Les Mis director Tom Hooper!
After four hours of singing, the hunk had to excuse himself, saying, “‘Please, you know I’m passionate about this, but I have to put my kids to bed.'"
But it turned out to be enough to get him the role as Jean Valjean in the flick, also starring Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried. He even landed an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role!
