Donna Lawrence had every right to be fearful of dogs. In 2009, she suffered a miscarriage after a near-fatal Pit Bull attack left her with 45 stitches.
But that didn't stop Lawrence from adopting Susie, a young mixed breed dog who was set on fire and left to die by her vicious owner. The dog suffered third-degree burns and was left with a broken jaw.
Ten days after the brutal incident, Susie was nursed back to health and trained to be a therapy dog who works with other burned victims like herself.
Due to this horrifying story, BarkPost, a website for all things dogs, treated Susie to "The Best Day Ever."
